Ho Chi Minh City - On December 5, 2024, the 7th Annual Forum on Corporate Governance (AF7) was held to promote the transparency and attractiveness of the financial and Vietnamese stock markets for domestic and international investors, especially in the context that Vietnam is facing the opportunity to upgrade its market ranking by 2025. This event has the theme "Investing in corporate governance: Strategy attracts investors responsible for the trend of internationalizing the market," creating a premise for strategic reforms to improve the quality of corporate governance in Vietnam.

AF7 is a prestigious professional forum, focusing on corporate governance standards associated with ESG (environment, society, and governance) and sustainable development. The program is organized by the Vietnam Institute of Directors (VIOD), with support from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Swiss State Department of Economic Affairs (SECO), and the Securities Commission State. In particular, the event also received coordination from two major Stock Exchanges of Vietnam: HOSE and HNX.

At this forum, for the first time VIOD announced the VNCG50 initiative. This is a set of scorecards built based on ACGS's assessment indicators according to good practices, and also based on corporate governance practices in Vietnam. VNCG50 is evaluated by a Council chaired by the Vietnam Stock Exchange (VNX), including members who are experts from the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE), the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX), fund representatives, securities companies and independent experts.

The VNCG50 Scorecard aims to help Vietnamese listed enterprises improve their corporate governance practices according to the stock market development strategy to 2030, narrowing the gap in corporate governance practices of Vietnam with the region. Southeast Asia, raising the ACGS score to an average level, thereby improving the quality of goods in the market, increasing transparency and attracting investors.
