For the first time in more than a month, for 4 consecutive days, Vietnam had no new cases of COVID-19.

The number of new COVID-19 cases has gradually decreased since the implementation of the social distancing policy. From April 1 to April 14, the number of new cases decreased by 40% compared to the previous 2 weeks. From April 15 until now, only 3 new cases have been recorded.

Currently, Vietnam has a total of 268 cases of COVID-19, of which 202 people have been discharged from the hospital.

Regarding Patient 188 testing positive again: After being discharged from the hospital on April 16, Patient 188 was handed over by Ha Nam General Hospital to the Hanoi Center for Disease Control and local authorities for continued monitoring and quarantine. at home for 14 days according to regulations. On April 17, the patient had a dry cough and slight chest tightness, so the Hanoi Center for Disease Control came to take samples. On April 18, the test result was positive for SARS-CoV-2, the patient was transferred to the Central Tropical Diseases Hospital, facility 2 for continued monitoring.
